Dear Stakeholders,

Curiosity, imagination, and the ability to think to realize one's dreams are among the most important gift that distinguish humans from other living creatures. A person who can wonder and dream can think and strive to achieve his dreams and produce new products and technologies.

Since the existence of this reciprocity, they have been trying to produce technologies (products and processes) first to meet their needs and then to separate new meetings in order to achieve the life they dream of. In recent years, "sustainability" has become a concept that attracts everyone's attention. One of the main reasons for this is that we do not see the whole picture in the cost-benefit calculations made while using our dreams, but instead see the short-term benefits of the products and processes produced as profit. Despite the prosperity of short-lived gains and human harms, we are now shown the option of intelligent, simultaneous, interdisciplinary work and evaluation of our dreams.

Lithium-ion battery studies began in the 1970s with the research activities of John Goodenough, M. Stanley Whittingham, Rachid Yazami and Koichi Mizushima at their universities. Pilot production was carried out in 1985 with Akira Yoshino and in 1991 with the leadership of Yoshi Nishi, Sony and Asahi Kasei have commercialized.

The aim of the "Battery Workgroup" established within OTEP (Automotive Technologies Platform) is to examine the design of Lithium-Ion based batteries used in electric vehicles. The investigation covers the features of each components/materials, production methods, market volume, market dominance, the current situation of our country, life cycle analysis etc. The aim is to give suggestions on what kind of strategic moves our country should make in this sector that has already formed globally.

For this purpose, the battery group has been structured starting from mines and reserves and including battery waste, environmental management and life cycle analysis.

Academicians in the battery group have been publishing their publications in this field for years and, most importantly, educating their most valuable products: their students. New companies have begun to be established in various sectors to develop products for electric vehicles, and our existing companies have accelerated their product development efforts to meet the needs of the battery sector in their products and processes.Dreams can only come true if we move forward with people who embrace universal values. In order to develop batteries and make dreams come true, experts who have been trained and are being trained in every field need to work hand in hand.The Battery Workgroup, within OTEP (Automotive Technologies Platform), has been established to examine battery designs for electric vehicles. The workgroup consists of academic staff who are experts in this field in our country, our industry, entrepreneurs, non-governmental organizations, experts at various levels of the public and private sector, and most importantly, our students to whom we will hand over the future.The battery workgroup consists of volunteers who add value to humanity. Our door is wide open to anyone who wants to participate and support this group.As the battery working group, we greet you with respect and love.
